What is Laser Hair Reduction?
Laser hair reduction is a clinically proven treatment that targets unwanted hair at the root to reduce regrowth over time. Rather than aiming for permanent hair removal in a single session, this approach focuses on long term reduction. With each treatment, hair becomes finer, lighter and slower to grow, resulting in smoother skin and easier long term management.
At Adsum Aesthetics we use the High Speed LightSheer Duet system by Lumenis. This advanced technology delivers exceptional treatment speed and comfort while maintaining excellent safety and results. The laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle, where it disrupts the growth cycle without damaging the surrounding skin.
The LightSheer Duet features a patented ChillTip handpiece with a 9 or 12 millimetre square sapphire tip. This actively cools the skin before, during and after each pulse, helping to minimise discomfort while allowing higher treatment energies to be delivered safely and effectively. As a result, larger areas such as the back, chest and legs can be treated comfortably in as little as fifteen to twenty minutes, without the need for topical anaesthetic or messy gels.
While the primary goal is hair reduction, many clients also refer to this treatment as laser hair removal due to the significant and long lasting improvement achieved.
